With the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud computing, data centers are experiencing a substantial surge in computing power demand, placing elevated requirements on the stability and Energy Efficiency of critical power equipment such as transformers.

01 Data Center Construction Drives Demand

A large-scale AI server consumes 3 to 5 times more power than a conventional server, translating to stricter demands for the stability and continuity of power supply. Data centers require two categories of transformers: Power Transformers (110kV/220kV), which convert high-voltage electricity to medium-voltage power, and 10kV distribution transformers, which further step down the voltage to levels usable by servers. As an advanced material, amorphous alloy boasts much lower magnetization loss than silicon steel, endowing it with inherent advantages in energy efficiency.

03 Three Key Trends Shaping the Industry

The transformer industry is witnessing three prominent technological trends: first, "energy efficiency optimization," with Class 1 energy efficiency products accounting for a significantly growing share of sales; second, "intelligent upgrading," as new projects mandate transformers to be equipped with edge computing modules; third, "miniaturization," to accommodate the demand for high-density layouts. The application of three-dimensional wound core technology enables a 30% reduction in transformer volume compared with traditional models.

With the advancement of the "dual carbon" strategy and the acceleration of digital infrastructure development, the transformer industry’s shift toward intelligence, energy efficiency, and miniaturization has become an unambiguous trend.
